Interviewing autistic individuals

Amanda is passionate about breaking down barriers to employment and is aware of the difficulties that disabled and autistic people face, particularly at the interview stage.  As part of the ITV Meridian Diversity and Equality panel she is able to create and communicate new ideas that she feels will be helpful to individuals within the working environment.  

Her news article focuses on a talented autistic individual who was happy to demonstrate a different way of interviewing.   This new interview technique removed all possible sensory overload and allowed Morgan to show his skills whilst feeling relaxed and calm. She hopes that other organisations will consider adopting a different interview method to ensure that everyone can have a productive and successful interview where they can fully demonstrate their skills.
