After everyone has hopefully now prepared for GDPR with a flurry of Privacy Statements being sent to everyone to gain consent and an increase in rights over individuals data, we now also now have to take account of the new UK Data Protection Act 2018 which received Royal Assent on 25th May this year.

The GDPR European legislation offers a broad basis for member states with little opportunity to make provision for how it is applied in their own country. Our UK act now supplements and gives greater clarity to the UK on our Data Protection duties and rights.
